I know he doesn’t look 100% like Elvis, but nobody really will. I think he’ll do Elvis justice and I can’t wait to see this in theaters!
Butler doesn’t physically resemble Elvis but his physical performance and accent is genuinely spot on
No one is going to look exactly like Elvis but the 50’s clips of the movie really seem to capture how very different Elvis was to other white singers of the era. It was not a time where white music artists looked particularly different or moved a lot on stage. Because we are all used to singers dancing around, dressing in wild clothing and moving to the rhythm we miss how different Elvis was back then. He really was very, very different, was exotically, preternaturally good looking and, to top it all, had a voice that had tremendous range and captured the passion and emotion in a song. He was the total package and arrived just when television was taking off. He had the full exposure that catapulted him to the top in very short space of time. Rags to riches doesn’t do the saying justice in this instance. He must have had to pinch himself every day and, all
In all, handled it pretty well for some time before it overwhelmed him.

Take Control - Become More:
Probably the hardest role to take, Elvis was one of a kind, from looks, style, voice, showmanship, but let see what it looks like in full, so far I have not seen one biopic that truly captured the Elvis phenomenon

I just burst out in tears about halfway through this trailer, it just hit me like a ton of bricks when "Unchained Melody" started playing. Can't wait to see this!
I see potential in this man. He came a long way from being the random blonde extra in most of our childhood shows.

There’s literally a few guys that sound, act and look identical to Elvis but maybe there something about this actor that will do Elvis justice.

I can't even say how excited I am for this movie!! I just wish that I had some Elvis fan friends to go with me when I see it. I guess I'll make friends while I'm there among others who love the King and go with them the 2nd on to the 50th time I see it in theaters 😆💔
Elvis Presley's final live performance was at Indianapolis’s Market Square Arena on June 26, 1977 to a crowd of nearly 18,000. & 45 years later to the day, "ELVIS" is released to all generations only in movie theaters.
I’m so excited for this movie. I even shedded a tear
“Elvis had an influence on everybody with his musical approach. He broke the ice for all of us.” - the great Al Green
Katerina Vanetti
Katerina Vanetti:
It’s amazing that this guy went from small rolls on Disney channel and Nickelodeon to sky rocketing into playing a rock n roll king.
This actor had two or three scenes in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and he held his own against Brad Pitt. He's solid. Well done.
Judy Cunningham
Judy Cunningham:
OMG it looks like it gonna be a good one!! I'm excited can't!!

I can't wait I hope it lives up to the hype
Great trailer! I don't know anything about Austin Butler, but he seems like he gave a great performance. Baz Luhrmann seems to have captured the three phases of Elvis' life very accurately. The 1950's - with the Ed Sullivan show. The 1968 comeback special, and the the 1973 Aloha from Hawaii performance, and his later Las Vegas performances - which I highly recommend..

Everyone bitching about him not looking like Elvis drives me crazy. The only one who could died at birth… Elvis’ twin. I think he’s gonna do a wonderful job. I’m so pumped about this movie. Elvis deserves a movie about his life in theaters and I’m so happy that it’s happening so new generations can see the wonder of this man. I was born 2 years after he died and have been obsessed with him since I was little. I’m so so so so so excited for this!!!!

Charlotte P:
Some people are obsessed with an actor being an exact carbon copy of the person (or cartoon!) they’re portraying that they don’t care about the acting at all. Watch Elvis clips if you want to watch an exact match to how Elvis looked.

It's not looking like Elvis, but transmitting the performance to take over Elvis for the 2 hour movie. I must admit. Before this trailer I thought "NAH"....But he seems to have nailed it.
Retro Jet Games
Retro Jet Games:
Fun fact, Tom Hanks and his mother took in Elvis years before he was famous. Offered him a place to stay as he passed through town. It was in Greenbow Alabama.
J G:
When Adam driver was doing GIRLS on HBO, i called it then and said that he'd be one of Hollywood's best actors. I'm calling it now for Butler. This is his break out role and his opportunity to show his range. If this kid chooses roles wisely going forward to fine tune his craft he's going to strike gold with an Oscar worthy role in the next 5 years.
jcarlos medina
jcarlos medina:
Freaking love it
Can’t wait for this
As a huge fan of The Shannara Chronicles who also thought Austin Butler is a really underrated actor, this makes me happy to see. I really hope he gets the proper recognition after this.
Carol White
Carol White:
That voice gives me chills. Austin Butler has captured about as much as an actor can about such a unique and soulful phenomenon that is Elvis. Austin prepared his butt off. This is a tribute to Elvis. Wait, Watch & see.

Has anyone ever seen, "Elvis and Me"? I was 6 or 7 when I seen it. It was the first movie I've seen that was a sneak peek of his life. I've done alot of research on Elvis bc my grandma was a fan of his when I was younger. I'm curious to see how this movie tells a lil bout his story🤔

Honestly Austin Butler is a good looking guy but yes no 1 can replace Elvis the king ❤️
Stunning! Looks phenomenal!
this is interesting & has the potential to beat Bohemian Rhapsody & the Elton John movie
if i had a time machine i'd do a few things one of them wouldve been telling Elvis how much his career would mean and what it would lead to and to cut down on the pills
Lindsey Carribean
Lindsey Carribean:
There’s two kind of singers : The ones who simple sings their songs and those who live their song and vibes with the audience. Elvis was one of them. Those kind of artists becomes legends. I hate the colonel though, an opportunist obsessed by the money.
I can’t wait to see this film! I hope they show how the “King of Rock 'n' Roll” was appropriating Black music.
neil Irvine
neil Irvine:
The beatles now the king 😁how blessed are us to be alive 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I want to see this!
So this looks awesome
Moe Kontze
Moe Kontze:
No matter what this movie will be, it will probably or the closest to Sir EPs story. We have to put aside the looks, but he can sing and act. he was recommended by Denzel Washington, and director checked him out and rest is history. he knows these are big shoes to fill. I was skeptical, but when I think about Great Gatsby, I loved that movie, so I think this will be ok, and the director did a lot of research by talking to the black community then, and his childhood friend Sam Bell before he passed. Anyways we all have to go see the movie to make it a success and support it. Our support is vital for his memory and also the young generation of today who most don't know anything about this Special and wonderful Prince from another Planet 🤗♥️
This film will hopefully show people all over the World who Elvis really was and what he stood for. He left us with a unique Legacy of records, tapes and films. He was truly unique and there will NEVER be another like him. God Rest His Soul.
Ken Adams
Ken Adams:
I still feel today that Joaquin Phoenix was screwed out of the oscar for his Johnny Cash. But paved the way for the others who won for their roles moving forward.
Cee Martín
Cee Martín:
When it became known that Baz was making a film about Elvis I thought to myself, great, I hope finally casts Kyle Gallner, (who looks A LOT like a young Elvis) for the role. When I found out he had cast Austin Butler I was dismayed because he doesn't look anything like him. Now after watching the trailer I have to say that I'm willing to give this film and Austin Butler a chance and when it comes out I will go and see it in the big screen.
Clayton Berg
Clayton Berg:
I'm here for it if Luhrmann doesn't put a modern soundtrack on it.
The balls this guy has to take on the role that's literally the most imitated in recent history
It looks like it is going to be good. I am glad they finally aged him to look Elvis' age in the later years. I am going to go against the grain and say it's gonna be Tom Hanks that ruins this movie with his stupid accent. Tom Parker didn't talk like that. So much so, nobody knew he was an illegal immigrant until after Elvis died.

BB KING: 'Let me tell you the definitive truth about Elvis Presley and racism', The King of the Blues, B.B. King said in 2010. 'With Elvis, there was not a single drop of racism in that man. And when I say that, believe me I should know'. -- BB KING

JAMES BROWN: “I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother. He said I was good and I said he was good; we never argued about that. Elvis was a hard worker, dedicated, and God loved him … I love him and hope to see him in heaven. There’ll never be another like that soul brother”. --- JAMES BROWN (During Elvis' private family wake, James was the LAST ONE TO LEAVE. 1 hour and 30 minutes later -- it took several of his security guards to help him out of the room. James was devastated -- they sang Gospel together to all hours of the night at each others' homes. James Brown was considered family by the Presley they were so close.)

JACKIE WILSON: "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man's music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied from Elvis." --- JACKIE WILSON (Elvis quietly paid for Jackie's medical expenses until the day he passed away in 1977. Before Jackie's stage accident he would carry a small signed photo of Elvis in his pants pocket. Every day, bar none.)

Devin Thomas:
Looks great!
**TRANSCRIBED TEXT FROM ALI'S SPEECH at Elvis' Memorial Service - "We black people are kinda funny about music. We aren’t going to follow someone unless they’ve got some Soul. Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Micheal Jackson, but, the only white boy that had soul and could sing as good as ANY of them was Elvis.

A lot of great singers who are black, but, one man literally as good as anybody, put all those brothers together there’s none any better than Elvis Presley.

Singing ability, he a had everything, and he was pretty, I know. And when it comes to boxing nobody has the class, the style, the wit, the speed and beauty of Ali. And when it comes to singing nobody had everything like Elvis.

And the last thing, we must understand, he did lot for poor people, he cared for people, he had a good heart, he just wasn't a person who was great with talent, but he was great in spirit and with God in his heart, and this is great too.
I realize how good I am in my profession, I wouldn't praise nobody if he don't deserve it, because I am the greatest of all time in boxing, in boxing. I said boxing !

But I'm telling you, not just you all, the Elvis fans, so naturally you praise Elvis, he's of European race as you are, but I'm Black, I'm a Islamic, I'm 100% different from you.

But I’ll tell the world Elvis was the greatest of all time. I'm a Muslim who's black who stands up for what he believes. I don't have to say what I don't feel, I'm not false, I don't have to say this. I have no Bosses. I'm free.

He to me, is one of the greatest singers, actors and all round men of all time.” ~

Tray Daniel:
I think Baz should direct Frank Sinatra next with Warner Bros again, and this time with Legendary Pictures
Lindsey Carribean
Lindsey Carribean:
And next the biopic about another legend Master Mister Michael Jackson. I can’t wait.
Over the years Elvis has become a cartoon like figure, a caricature, a Las Vegas wedding prop. Elvis impersonators made him that way. They should all be banned. This movie here will undo this injustice.

Elvis didn't invent Rock 'n' Roll, nobody did, but it was he who blurred the strickt line between black and white music, the essence of Rock 'n' Roll. He changed the musical and cultural landscape of the time almost overnight with his controversial style that met a lot of resistence. He gave voice to a whole new subculture; Teenagers.

Without Elvis breaking down the doors for scores of artists to follow it would probably be very doubtful if we ever had heard from them at all. Without Elvis' national and global breakthrough, of wich he had the guts to do, Rock 'n' Roll would have never become as big as it did. That made him the King of it.

That’s a terrible looking Elvis. Michael St. Gerald was the best portrayal of Elvis.
